Cleanliness, privacy, and upkeep — rated 1–5 by people who've actually been there. Recent visits count for more.
Facts, voted by the crowd
Free or customers-only? Single-occupancy? Floor-to-ceiling stalls? Quick yes/no facts, confirmed by votes.
Missing one? Add it

Want in early?
Restroom Critic is in closed testing on Google Play before it opens to everyone. Testers install it from the Play Store like any other app and the restrooms they rate are the first ones on the map.
Two steps, both with the Google account you use on your Android phone:

Ask to join the testers group
Google Play draws the tester list from this group, so joining it is how you get on the list. Approvals are by hand. Expect a reply within a day or so.

Once you're approved, become a tester
Open the opt-in link, tap Become a tester, then install from Google Play. This link only does something after step 1 goes through.

What we ask in return: actually use it. Open the app every day or two for a couple of weeks and rate the restrooms you visit. Honest ratings are the whole point — and Google checks that a test is a real test before letting an app go public.
About your email address: Google Play identifies testers by their Google account, so joining the group shows us the address you join with. That's the only thing it's used for — there's no mailing list, and the app itself still works without an account.
Android only for now. iPhone and F-Droid come later — nothing to sign up for yet.
